Ownership of art pieces is a global investment strategy. If the neo-middle class of India begins to show interest in art as a business, it definitely might be a new wave. Art has always taken backstage with the average Indian. We have had the M.Com wave, C.A wave, the M.C.A wave, the Bio-tech wave among prospective graduates but never the "Art" wave.
Interesting to see funding for art, though.

  Today, my husband was pleasantly surprised when he called out from the bathroom for a shampoo bottle. Normally, this would prompt a tirade about his laziness, followed by my hurried hand off of our regular brand of shampoo. But today, I handed him expensive bottles of shampoo and conditioner with a smile, saying, “With love.” Though puzzled, he was happy to indulge in the fancy products.
